Measurable end results toward which effort is directed
March 2020: Writing is harder work than I expected! But the alphabetized list of chapters, posted at my desk, motivates me. Checking them off one by one, each a step towards the measurable end result: a completed book. The goal.
In an earlier chapter, we talked about ambition: the desire to achieve a goal through hard work and determination. But hard work gets you nowhere if you have no defined goal in the first place.
