Straightforward frankness, openness and honesty

My wife Lisa knows she can say anything whatsoever to me, without fearing that I will take offense or get angry. Quite the contrary: I rely on her candor as a mirror, to unflinchingly reveal my flaws, errors and shortcomings.

Candor is vital for truthful, effective communication. The lack of it serves no one’s best interests.

Candor is a two-way street. Encourage it in those around you.  Many people are hesitant, so go out of your way to solicit honest feedback… and express gratitude for what you learn.
